Ask ten people what a Thai massage is and you will get two very different answers. One group pictures a traditional clinic, firm pressure and assisted stretching. The other pictures something altogether more sensual. Both exist in London, they are genuinely different things, and knowing which is which before you book saves everybody an awkward conversation. This guide explains both.
Traditional Thai massage
Authentic Thai massage is one of the oldest bodywork traditions in the world, practised in Thailand for well over two thousand years. It is sometimes called lazy yoga, and once you have had one you understand why. You stay clothed, you lie on a mat rather than a table, and there is very little oil involved. Your therapist uses her hands, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet to apply firm pressure along the body energy lines, then moves you through a sequence of assisted stretches. It is more energising than a Swedish massage and considerably less gentle. People often walk out feeling taller.
Sensual Thai massage
The sensual version borrows the warmth, the unhurried pace and the full-body attention of the tradition, then removes the clinical framing. Oil replaces the stretching, the pressure softens, and the massage becomes an intimate experience rather than a therapeutic one. This is what most people in London mean when they ask a companion for a Thai massage, and it is closer in spirit to a Nuru massage or a tantric massage than to anything you would find in a physiotherapy clinic.
Neither is better. They are answers to different questions. If your back hurts, book the traditional one at a proper Thai clinic. If you want an unhurried, sensual hour with beautiful company, that is what our companions offer.
What happens in a session
A sensual Thai massage usually begins with a warm shower and a few minutes of conversation, which matters more than people expect: the whole thing works better when you are relaxed rather than nervous. From there your companion works slowly across the whole body with warm oil, building pressure gradually and paying attention to how you respond rather than following a fixed routine. There is no script and no clock-watching. A good massage of this kind is a conversation conducted through touch.
Thai massage and Thai companions
A fair question, and worth answering honestly: you do not need a Thai companion to enjoy a Thai-style massage, and plenty of our ladies from across Asia and Europe offer it beautifully. That said, if the authenticity appeals, browse our Thai escorts and see who is available. Each profile lists exactly which experiences she provides.
Etiquette and what to expect
Shower beforehand, agree what is on offer in advance, and say if it is your first time. Every lady sets her own boundaries and lists her own services, so there are no surprises in either direction. If you have an injury, a recent operation or you are simply sore from the gym, mention it at the start rather than halfway through.
